Marc Copland was playing at Parnell's a now defunct jazz club in Seattle in the early 80s I was in his Peacock's theory class at Cornish institute. Gary came into class saying that we oughta check out this really smart pianist Marc Copland. I/we did many of us. I love Marc Copland.☯️
Another wonderful film, masterfully done by someone who is obviously a fan of these musicians. Really these mini-documentaries on ECM artists and albums are exactly what I was hoping the ECM documentary of a few years ago would be, but fell very short. These wonderful short films are making up for that. And thanks for showing s the exterior shots of where the artist(s)) live as well as it helps to get a better concept for the artists life. These are easily among the best things i've ever seen on RUclips and i'm sure many others will come across these videos as well who will appreciate them. -Gary
Amazing that GP is still working as a bassist and composer....these mini documentaries are exactly what I want to see....interesting as well to hear GP talking about free jazz (jazz freedom)
How refreshing to hear people take the time to articulate their thoughts clearly.
Lovely little documentary. RIP Gary.
RIP Gary Peacock.
R.I.P. Gary...

Well, unfortunately he has not been working anymore for more than a year
:-(
"Tangents" will most likely be his final album.
